CBT Day

This is not a pass or fail; it is continuous training that requires demonstration of learnt skills. The course consists of the following elements.
The day starts with a talk on kit and clothing, followed by a talk on controls and maintenance of the bike. We then go out onto the training area, and start riding the bike – practicing clutch control, gears, observations, braking exercises and slow riding etc.

After completing the on site training you will return to the classroom to receive training on road safety. Discuss subjects like road surfaces, anticipation, Highway code, Hazard perception etc.

After lunch you go the road ride which consists of a minimum of 2 hours on the road. Please note that some people may require returning on another day to continue training. This is not a reflection on ability but is to ensure that you are safe. Anglia Rider Training is strictly regulated by the government and we ensure that the safety of the pupil comes first at all times. We have strict guidelines which the law requires us to adhere to.

Over the day you will be taught about 5 elements. In the first element you will be taught the aims of the training course and the importance of the right clothing as well as an eye sight test.

In the second element you will be shown how to use a bike, how its controls work and how to safely pull away and stop.

Then, you will be shown more advanced controls and manoeuvres to get you ready for the road ride. These include figures of eights and controlled braking.

In the forth element you will talk and understand some hazards you will encounter on your road ride to ensure your safety.

Finally, you will be taken on the road with a DVSA approved instructor with a earpiece so that you can hear and understand instructions given to you. You will be observed on different situations and revisit some of the maneuvers you learned earlier in the day.

If you have understood the training and shown your ability to ride safely you will be awarded with your CBT certificate and some tips from your instructor.
